Terms of Use

1. The apps

Halo Island turns the MacBook notch into a Dynamic Island, with now playing, a system HUD, Live Activities, clipboard history, a file shelf, a timer, a mirror with ring light, and weather.

Halo Launch replaces Launchpad with an app grid, folders, search, Launchpad layout import, and an uninstaller.

2. Free features and Halo Pro

Halo Island and Halo Launch are free to download and use. Halo Pro unlocks additional features in both apps. The first time you open either app, every Pro feature is included free for 14 days; after that, the free features keep working and Pro features need a license.

Halo Pro is sold as an annual subscription or as a one-time lifetime license. Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our reseller and merchant of record, which handles payment, taxes, and invoices under its own terms.

An annual subscription renews automatically each year until you cancel it. You can cancel anytime from the link in your receipt email; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. A lifetime license doesn't expire.

Each license can be active on up to three Macs at a time. You can move it to another Mac by deactivating it under Settings › Halo Pro.

If Halo Pro isn't right for you, write to us within 14 days of your purchase for a full refund.

3. Your license

Halo grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the apps on Macs you own or control.

The apps are licensed, not sold. Halo keeps all rights not expressly granted in these terms.

4. What you agree not to do

When using the apps, you agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the apps, except where the law expressly allows it.
• Sell, rent, lend, sublicense, or redistribute the apps.
• Remove or change any copyright or trademark notices.
• Use the apps for any unlawful purpose.

5. Permissions and privacy

The apps work without an account and store your data locally on your Mac. Each permission is optional and powers a single feature.

Our Privacy Policy explains in detail what each feature uses and how you stay in control of it.

6. The Halo Launch uninstaller

The uninstaller in Halo Launch moves an app and the leftover files it finds to the Trash. It doesn't permanently delete anything on its own, so you can restore items from the Trash until you empty it.

Please review the selected files carefully before you confirm. What you choose to remove is up to you, and once the Trash is emptied, the apps can't recover those files.

7. Apple trademarks

Apple, Mac, MacBook, macOS, Dynamic Island, Launchpad, and Spotlight are trademarks of Apple Inc. Halo is an independent studio and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Apple Inc.

Other product and company names mentioned belong to their respective owners.

8. No warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the apps are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We don't guarantee that the apps will be error-free or uninterrupted. Some laws don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Halo won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or use, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the apps.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, whichever language you read them in.

If you use the apps as a consumer, you keep all the protections given to you by the laws of the country where you live.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the apps evolve. When we do, we'll announce the changes on our website and update the date at the top of this page.

If you keep using the apps after the changes take effect, you accept the updated terms.
